Healthier Days Process

How Does It Work?

The Healthier Days Program, as the name suggests, is a wellness program. This Program was developed and is managed by HealthcareData Company, LLC (HDC).

The Healthier Days Program has one purpose — to help people pursue "healthier days." What to pursue is up to each person — everybody has their own ideas of what would be "healthier days" for them. How to pursue "healthier days" is a cooperative effort between participants and HDC, working together within our Healthier Days Process. Everybody follows the same process to reach different ends (their own "healthier days").

The following description of the Healthier Days process employs our web-based system. While this system provides a great deal of convenience for members, we recognize that not everyone will desire to participate online. Accordingly, for every step, we also have a paper-based system. This paper system is integrated with the online system so that members may switch to participating online at any time they are comfortable and/or able.

The Healthier Days Process operates through the Healthier Days Club and its various Healthier Days Chapters. The Process includes:

An enrollment decision — it all starts with this! Healthier Days is a voluntary program and members have to make the decision to pursue healthier days.

Participants enroll online at www.HealthierDays.com.

Completion of the Healthier Days Enrollment Process — Participants tell us what health improvement areas they want to pursue — like "Exercise" and "Eat Healthy."

For each of these areas, participants are guided to specify WHAT and HOW.

If, for example, a participant selects exercise as one of their pursuits, they would tell us:

  • what type(s) of exercise they want to do,
  • how often they want to exercise, and
  • how long each time.

By enabling participants to design their own daily program, they take ownership and responsibility in their pursuit of Healthier Days.

Preparation of a customized Action Record — Participants are assigned their own personal Healthier Days manager, who will process their enrollment responses to prepare an initial Action Record for the member using knowledge about available resources and programs.

What's an Action Record? For someone to pursue Healthier Days, well, it kind of makes sense that they have to take some actions! Participants have told us "what and how," and now we're going to put their choices into an Action Record. An Action Record looks similar to a block calendar — and it contains the actions that participants told us they want to pursue.

Modifying the Action Record as desired — Online participants will receive an email to let them know when their initial Action Record is ready. They can then sign in to their personalized member area at www.HealthierDays.com, where they can review and make any desired changes to their Action Record.

If it's not exactly what they want, they can change it — it's THEIR program!

Taking action and earning points — Participants earn points by completing the actions specified on their Action Record. They then record these points on their member page.

Healthier Days is a POINT and REWARD system. A Point Schedule ensures that points are awarded consistently for all members.

A Score Card keeps track of the points members have earned.

Getting rewards — As participants accumulate points, they can monitor their progress via real-time "My Progress" reports as they work towards earning their rewards:

  • MINI rewards . . . to keep them moving forward, and
  • MAJOR rewards . . . to recognize milestones!

Rewards might include cash, charitable donations, movie passes, and more. Each employer chapter can choose the rewards that are made available to participants, as well as set the number of points needed to earn each reward.

Experiencing HEALTHIER DAYS! — As participants follow their Action Records, they develop and reinforce healthy habits.

In addition to helping to restrain health care costs, improved employee health can also reduce employee absenteeism and improve overall productivity.

Revising the Action Record as needed — Over time, members work with their Healthier Days manager to make changes to their Action Record as their needs and circumstances change . . .

. . . then, experience more, and perhaps different, healthier days!
