Our Audit Philosophy

We're a partner with you in the process.

At HealthcareData Company (HDC), our audit philosophy is to assist your organization in whatever manner possible within the audit guidelines to ensure that your HEDIS^® Report is submitted on time and, to the fullest extent possible, that all measures are reportable. If this requires additional work, time, effort, site visits, etc., then our auditing staff are prepared to take these extra steps as your partner in the auditing process.

We help minimize the impact on your operations.

We always work with you to minimize the impact of the audit on your organization's operations by developing an audit schedule that makes the on-site visit the most productive possible, while at the same time ensuring all required areas are addressed. Our auditors are also very flexible in setting the date for the on-site visit, as well as the schedule of events in order to meet your requirements and staff availability. Where possible, maximum use of teleconferencing, video conferencing while on-site, and interactive computer linkages is made.

We help you find solutions.

At HealthcareData Company, we believe that auditors should not simply find problems, but, where possible, offer solutions. Often, such solutions (e.g., recommendations for alternate coding approaches to compensate for missing data, discovery of programming errors prior to report production, recommendations for which measures should be calculated using hybrid review to avoid bias) result in a measure which would have been deemed "Not Report" being accurately calculated and thus achieving a "Report" status. At other times, a problem may not be correctable for the current reporting cycle, but we will offer recommendations for making information system improvements to improve reporting in future years.

We're there to help throughout the entire process.

We maintain a constant dialogue, via e-mail, with our clients throughout the entire year, not just during the audit season. Additionally, our auditors and staff will maintain contact with each organization throughout the audit process and are available for questions or assistance as required. We also share with our clients any e-mail or policy updates that we may receive directly from NCQA.

Our ability to retain and increase both our client base and our existing number of state auditing contracts when in competition with our peers is a clear demonstration of how our philosophy is recognized and rewarded.
