Performance Profiling (Points of Reference)

Performance profiling is not available from HealthcareData Company. We simply won't do it! We will, however, produce Points of Reference for you - and the difference is more than semantic!

Performance profiles are inherently, and sometimes blatantly, judgmental. Our Points of Reference, on the other hand, provide, as the name implies, reference points so you can make your own judgments.

You don't need an outsider passing judgment - what you need is objective data work that will contribute to your own assessment of performance. While you can't avoid others passing judgment, you can be prepared to respond and you can even take the initiative.

We will produce for you a customized set of Reference Points that can include (depending on the available data and, of course, what makes sense):

  • production and utilization measures,
  • financial and clinical measures,
  • HEDIS measures, and
  • other mutually agreed upon measures.

Once we agree upon the Reference Points that can and should be produced, we will generate the indicator values . . . and then we take AIM! No, this does not mean we are going to pass judgment - AIM stands for our Analytic and Interpretive Memo system. Using the Points of Reference (indicator values), we analyze and interpret our findings in a very systematic way, doing so in part by using available reference values. Thus, you will receive not only the Points of Reference but also our interpretation of these Points.

The output from our Points of Reference and AIM work serves as the foundation for you to create whatever performance profiles you deem appropriate. Ultimately, then, you pass judgment on your performance, and you pass it along to those whom you want to inform; we simply help you get there.
